RAYMOND — North Beach placed second overall, fininshing only 18 points behind host Raymond’s 149 points at a multi-school meet on Thursday.
The Hyaks also finished second in the girls meet, won by Northwest Christian with 133 points — 24 more than North Beach.
North Beach’s Seth Bridge was a double winner in the shot put (49-8) and discus (162-5). The Hyaks took five of the top six places in both events.
Taholah’s Levi Jackson and Michael Flores went one-two in the boys javelin.
Freshman Lorin Cox and junior Tawni Blankenship each had a piece of three victories for North Beach’s girls. Cox won both sprints and anchored North Beach’s winning 4×100-meter relay team.
Blankenship was also on the winning relay foursome in addition to victories in the pole vault (9-6) and long jump (14-11).

Wildcats sweep Hyaks
OYEHUT — Ocosta continued its hot hitting at the plate by slugging 24 hits total in a Pacific 2B League doubleheader sweep of host North Beach on Thursday afternoon.
Ocosta’s Kaylee Barnum finished with nine RBI total, including a pair of two-run home runs in the nightcap. Evalyn Marsh added five RBI and Emilyi Snider three RBI for the Wildcats.
Elizabeth Garman slugged a two-run home run in the nightcap to lead the Hyaks at the plate.
On Wednesday, North Beach travels to Montesano junior varsity.
