Garden by the Sea event
‘a huge success’
Our Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Fundraiser at the VFW was a huge success! Our board members and volunteers did a fantastic job putting on this event.
Thank you to all who purchased tickets and supported us. From all the smiling faces everyone had lots of fun, wonderful appetizers, desserts and wines to taste.
On behalf of the Garden By the Sea a huge thank you to the Mermaid Cove Gallery & Gifts for selling tickets, Ocean Shores IGA and The Quinault Casino and Resort for their continued support of Food donations over the last 10 years.
Some wonderful silent auction items were bid on thanks to local North Beach businesses, artist and private donors.
With so many friends and supporters that we have grown since we broke ground in 2009 we are so grateful and we thank you.
We look forward to another year dedicated to the development of community relationships through people growing garden fresh food while addressing hunger. We will all continue to build that community spirit through leadership, the garden experience, education and social responsibility through volunteerism.

Share Christmas spirit
with Kiwanis Club events
The North Beach/Ocean Shores Community Christmas spirit and generosity makes a big difference for our children. When it comes to our kids, this community steps up. Non-Profits, Businesses and individual citizens support our kids at Christmas time.
The Kiwanis Club of Ocean Shores and the North Beach/Ocean Shores community sponsors three Christmas events for the children of the North Beach.
1. The Kiwanis North Beach Children’s Christmas Party will take place at the Ocean Shores Convention Center, Saturday, Dec. 15th from 1-4 p.m. Oh Yes, Santa and his Elves will be there.
Kids, 12 years and under, that reside in the North Beach or the Taholah School Districts are invited to attend. All kids will choose their own gifts, mostly toys. Cookies are plentiful and a party atmosphere is enjoyed by all. Last year almost 400 children attended this event.
2. Our organization also sponsors a Teen Christmas Party. This year the event will be held at the Ocean Shores Convention Center on Saturday, Dec. 15th from 6-8 p.m. Teens 13 to 18 years of age that reside, only in the North Beach School District, are invited. Last year, over 125 teens attended this event and enjoyed food, refreshments, gifts and games.
3. We also provide new clothing and shoes for children in need. It is required that the recipients reside in the North Beach School District. These items are wrapped and delivered to their homes. The parents or guardians of these children need to contact Patricia Scott at (360) 289-4608 and provide age, gender and sizes of items requested. All requests for clothing or shoes must be made no later than November 24th.
Our motto says it all. “ Needed — New Toys and Old Money.” Toy drop offs can be made at Anchor Bank, Windermere Realty or Edward Jones.
Tax deductible donations can be mailed to:
Kiwanis North Beach Kids Christmas, C/O Donovan Scott, PO Box 98 Ocean Shores, WA 98569.
Donations can also be picked up.

Need continues growing
at local Food Bank
Your help is urgently needed!
The Ocean Shores Food Bank would like to thank the many individuals, businesses and community organizations for your generous support this year. Thanks to you over 3,000 households and nearly 9,000 individuals have enjoyed satisfying, nutritious meals.
As much as we would like to think otherwise, hunger is a hard, cold fact of life here in Ocean Shores. At this time of the year many of us look forward to big platters of turkey or ham, fancy side dishes, delicious desserts, and plenty of leftovers. But such meals are a fantasy for many.
At the food bank, we continue to see a growing need for food among individuals, families, senior citizens, the under-employed, and the unemployed. I’m sure you believe, as we do, that no one in our community should go hungry. The truth is there are people right now that need your help.
Please share the joy of giving by sending your special gift today. Thank you for your compassion and generosity, and for making a difference in someone’s life.
