Timberland Regional Library to limit prolonged access to facilities

Timberland Regional Library locations are planning to stay open but limit prolonged visits starting Friday in response to the coronavirus, according to a statement released Thursday.

Starting Friday, Timberland Regional Library locations will be open “under limited use. Programs, meetings or prolonged use of any kind,” including study, reading and public computer use are canceled. Library locations become holds pick up, checkout and return, and quick browsing sites only. Seating areas will not be available to the public.

This level of service is expected to last through the end of March, according to the release, but a higher level of safety may be implemented if necessary: All library facilities would be closed to the public, on the recommendation of the Department of health.

“In response to the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis, we want to inform the public that Timberland Regional Library (TRL) is enacting important health and safety measures,” read the statement. “TRL Administration works in coordination with the Department of Health and CDC, Emergency Management Services, and public elected officials in response to natural disasters, health & safety issues, and epidemic or risk of pandemic.”

Updates will be posted as necessary on the Timberland Regional Library Facebook page.
