NCN911: Bank burglary suspect jailed on felony charges

Ocean Shores man arrested for incident at Timberland Bank

A 24-year old Ocean Shores resident is in the county jail on felony charges after burglarizing a bank, Ocean Shores Police said in a news release Friday.

At 9:40 p.m. on Jan. 26, Harbor Dispatch received an alarm call at Timberland Bank on Damon Road in Ocean Shores. The alarm company followed their protocol and called the bank. A male subject answered then immediately hung up.

As officers were responding, a passing motorist called to report that a man was inside the bank, “waving his arms around, talking to himself,” said the news release from Sgt. David McManus.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found the front window and door of the bank had been shattered with landscaping rocks. The 24-year old man, who is known to Ocean Shores Police, was inside vandalizing the bank. He broke windows and threw items all over the bank. He refused to cooperate and advanced on the first officer, who used a Taser to subdue him and take him into custody.”

The man was arrested on charges of burglary and malicious mischief (both felony charges). He was treated at Grays Harbor Community Hospital and then booked into the County Jail.
