Working hours have been extended through July 25 at the Razor Clam Bridge replacement project to allow for the placement of concrete for the bridge foundations.
The city of Ocean Shores announced the hours of construction will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (including Saturdays). The full project is expected to be completed next May.
The project is replacing the old timber bridge with a new concrete girder bridge. The old bridge was closed in 2012 because of structural deficiencies.
The city was authorized to replace the bridge under a Washington State Department of Transportation grant, and design and permitting activities were completed in 2016.
After a bidding process, the low bidder was Cascade Bridge LLC from Vancouver, WA, and the City Council approved the awarding of $2.19 million for the work in June.
