Halloween Party
The Ocean Shores Firefighters Association will host their 47th annual Halloween Party starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Ocean Shores Convention Center. Burn ban lifted
With the recent cooler and wetter weather forecasted to continue, the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshals’ Office, Fire Districts and Fire Departments have lifted the restrictions on outdoor burning.
All residential burning, along with land clearing burning is allowed in the county.
The Fire Marshal said residents should remember;
• Check with local officials regarding burn permit requirements in your area before burning.
• Barrels and other containers are not allowed and are illegal under state law.
• Burn only natural vegetation from your own property. Burning of trash is strictly prohibited.
• Fires must be attended at all times.

Hydrant flushing
Ocean Shores Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants in the southeastern areas of the city in October. Work will be conducted in the vicinity of Falls of Clyde Dr., Mt. Olympus Ave., Albion Ave., and Island Circle from Cakesosta St. SE to Discovery Ave. SE on Oct. 24-25. The city recommends you do not use hot water during the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the days shown. If you experience discoloration of your water, please run the COLD water tap for a few minutes until it clears. If you must use hot water during flushing operations, you should flush your hot water tank after operations are complete. A map of the work area can be viewed at www.osgov.com. Park Foundation
The Ocean Shores Park Foundation has an anonymous donor willing to match contributions to the organization dollar for dollar up to $5,000. The mission of the Ocean Shores Park Foundation is to assist with maintenance, capital improvement projects and provide educational and recreational opportunities for all residents and visitors. PAWS annual event
The North Beach PAWS Annual Dinner & Auction to benefit homeless and needy domestic animals in the North Beach area will be held at the Ocean Shores Convention Center on Nov. 18 with silent auction starting at 5 p.m., buffet dinner at 6, and live auction at 7. Caterer: George Lee. Vegetarian entrees can be pre-ordered. Auctioneer: Eric Bjella. Flag Day Parade
The Action Committee for Tourism in Ocean Shores has disbanded, leaving the annual Flag Day Parade seeking a new sponsor. Anyone interested should call Cheryl Turner, manager of the Ocean Shores Convention Center, at (360) 289-4411.
