An overflow crowd turned out at the Ocean Shores Convention Center Friday night, Nov. 17, for the fifth annual edition of Turkey Bingo, a fund-raising event presented by the Ocean Shores Firefighters Association.
The venue was set up for 220 people, and folks were still lined up to get in at the 6 p.m. starting time. OS Fire Department’s information officer, Lt. Corey Kuhl (pictured), said tables and chairs were added, including several in the lobby, as attendance neared 400, “easily our best year yet!”
The response was so strong that they sold out of their initial supply of 4,000 bingo cards, a situation remedied by cards provided a local citizen and the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge. Winners received turkeys, pies, fixins and “gobbler gifts,” donated by local businesses. Turkey Bingo is the main fund-raising event for the firefighters association, and helps pay for their annual kids Halloween party and Easter egg hunt in Ocean Shores
