The Ocean Shores Fire Department and Firefighters Association hosted hundreds of children on Oct. 31 for the biggest Halloween party for kids on the North Beach at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.
Highlights included the annual costume contests broken down by age groups, with a noticeable increase in participants and costumes of all creations and characterizations. In addition, Ocean Shores merchants provided variety of treats for all the tricker-treaters who visited local businesses until the start of the Convention Center festivities.
Many civic groups had booths inside the Convention Center, which at times resembled an elaborate house of horrors or a crowded midway, with treats, games and spooky displays lining three aisles of the main room. Firefighters reported more candy was given out than ever before.
