Coast Calendar: Busy weekend from Seabrook to Stage West

The event season continues in full swing through May, with several diverse highlights this weekend. You can enjoy dramatic comedy in the new production by Stage West Community Theatre, check out million-dollar homes and developments amid entertainment at Seabrook, watch and listen to the rumble of hot rods rolling through Ocean Shores, or delight in the spring-like voices of the North Beach Singers.

Stage West Theatre

The new production is The Savannah Sipping Society,directed by Lori Hardin with assistant director Karin Noble, and features performances by Stacy Steele, Anna Frazier, Julie Opel, and Pamela Nygaard. Performances are Friday, May 19, Saturday, May 20, Sunday, May 21, Friday, May 26, Saturday, May 27, and Sunday, May 28 on the Ocean Shores Lions Club stage. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and are available at Dolores & Faye’s, Mocha Madness, Ocean Shores Animal Hospital, Ocean Shores Convention Visitor’s Center, and at the door.

Clam Digger Rod Run

The annual eclectic car show returns to the Ocean Shores/North Beach Elks Lodge on Saturday May 20, starting at 8 a.m. The public is welcome and the show features dash plaques to the first 100 registered. Registration for participants is $15, with the awards ceremony at 2 p.m. The Elks Lodge is located at 199 Ocean Lake Way.

Seabrook Showcase

Seabrook is welcoming visitors to tour newly constructed and resale homes at the Seabrook Spring Home Showcase this Saturday, May 20 ,at Seabrook Cottage Rentals. Guests should check in at the Seabrook real estate sales office to receive a map of homes that are open for the event.

Along with access to Seabrook’s oceanfront and most of Seabrook’s actively listed resale residences, visitors will be treated to a tour with Seabrook’s town founder, Casey Roloff, a seminar about cottage rentals and a walking tour of the community’s newest neighborhood South of Market (SOMA).

“Seabrook is excited to announce one of the community’s most anticipated neighborhoods, SOMA. Located just south of Market Street and Seabrook’s expanding Town Center, this perfectly-situated neighborhood is the most connected to the beach and town,” a news release said..

Showcase activities include a town walking tour led by founder Casey Roloff at 11 a.m. Seabrook Cottage Rentals General Manager Christophe Chabaud will give a seminar on “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Cottage Rentals” at 2 p.m., offering an opportunity to learn about the Cottage Rentals Program and the typical homeowner experience within the program. At 3:30 p.m., join town founder Casey Roloff and director of town development Stephen Poulakos for a hard hat tour of Seabrook’s brand-new neighborhood SOMA.

At the event, visitors will have opportunities to learn about for-sale SOMA homes and tour various Seabrook homes, including oceanfront homes in Elk Creek, a mix of available resales, and the model home in the Farm District. There will be live music and refreshments.

Special sales incentives specific to each home will be offered at the Spring Showcase of Homes, with values ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. Valid for new home sales only, these incentives are only available to buyers who will be under contract by June 1. Homes that are open during Showcase range in price from the $400,000s to more than $1.5 million.

North Beach Singers

North Beach Singers presents “A Rainbow of Color” for the spring concert series, starting Friday, May 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 20 at 3 p.m. (new time.) These performances will be held at Faith Community Church, 240 Canal Dr SE in Ocean Shores. Another performance will be held in Moclips Saturday afternoon, June 3 at 3 p.m. at Chapel By the Sea, 4612 State Route 109. Each song includes a color, i.e., Purple People Eater, Yellow Submarine, Blue Moon, Red River Valley, Over the Rainbow.

Admission is a donation of food or money to the North Beach Food Banks.
