Burning Bears turn 10
This weekend marks the 10th anniversary for the Burning Bears celebration at the Ocean City Marketplace. The event highlight is the annual burning of the large chainsaw-carved bears that are now taking shape at the festive corner at 2619 State Route 109.
A multitude of chainsaw artists will be on hand carving and participating in auctions that are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Stage West dinner show
Stage West Community Theatre will be hosting a mystery dinner and show called, Gin Joint, on March 3: “Jump, jive and wail your way down to Dick’s Gin Joint for an evening of swing and swindling.” The limited seating event is $25 per ticket, which includes a four-course Moroccan theme dinner, no host bar with gin-joint specials, and prizes for solving the mystery of the evening. Rockin’ the Shores event
Ocean Shores Food Bank will be “Rockin’ the Shores” at their third Annual Benefit, Saturday, April 7, at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.
The evening begins at 4:30 p.m. with a silent auction and music by DJ Charlie Baer. Dinner by George Lee at 6 p.m., followed by music featuring the band Raucous at 7, Live Auction at 7:30, rounding the night out with more music by Raucous.
Raucous presents an energy-packed, audience-friendly performance playing a wide variety of classic rock and dance music. Tickets are $30/person or reserved table of 8/$250. All of the net proceeds benefit Ocean Shores Food Bank, a 501(c) (3) tax-deductible organization whose mission is ”to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.”
North Beach Calendar
• Renewed Antique Show: Saturday, Feb. 17 – Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Ocean Shores Convention Center. Friday is open only in the evening as a special premier night and it is a ticketed event. The tickets will be for sale in the Center & at the Dusty Trunk and entitle you to tasty culinary delights as you peruse the wares of the vendors (includes entry both days of the show).
• Chocolate on the Beach Festival: Friday, Feb. 22 – Sunday, Feb. 25. The 11th annual festival of all things chocolate is centered in Pacific Beach, with a special Saturday wine and chocolate pairing event at the Ocean Crest Resort. Chef demos, chocolate vendors, costume contest, chocolate and recipe contests, live music, events for kids. Event benefits several local charities and non-profits. • UFO Paranormal Summit

The UFO/Paranormal Summit is an annual research conference at the Quinault Beach Resort that features researchers in the UFO and paranormal worlds as well as new researchers as they present their evidence, theories and information. • Beachcombers Fun Fair

The 29th annual event at the Convention Center features exhibits, seminars, information booths, and vendors on Saturday and Sunday; a kid’s science fair Saturday morning plus beach walks on Sunday morning.
• Razor Clam Festival & Seafood Extravaganza

Celebrating the natural bounty of coastal life. The event at the Convention Center features an artisan marketplace, children’s activities, live entertainment, cultural exhibits, and the highly anticipated Clam Chowder Cook-off. “Running with Scissors” Craft Shows will be coming to Ocean Shores Mother’s Day weekend, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day a the Convention Center. Free admission and all are welcome to the handmade for Mom Boutique Bazaar.

The 11th annual Expo; featuring Oceans of Fine Arts – Arts & Crafts Show, wood and ice chainsaw carving, hotrod and classic car show, memorial service honoring those who have passed and a home show over Memorial Day Weekend at the Convention Center.
• Ocean Shores Wearable Art Show

Artists of all media types create functional and not-so-functional pieces of spectacular fashion in this year’s show, “It’s Only Make Believe” that comes to life in one magical evening of music, dance and wearable art at the Convention Center.
• Festival of Colors

This is a great family kite-flying event for novice to professional kite flyers. Come fly a kite or enjoy the antics of colorful kites. Damon Road Beach Approach in Ocean Shores.
• Flag Day Parade
Saturday, June 9
A chance to show our patriotic spirit. The parade features more than 75 entries and a Grand Marshall. One of the only Flag Day parades in Western Washington.
• Sand and Sawdust Festival
Friday, June 22 – Sunday, June 24, 2018
Master, intermediate, & novice sand-sculptors compete on the beach and in town. At the Convention Center, master woodcarvers compete in this amazing annual competition. There are food, craft and specialty vendors. Live auctions are held daily on carvings.
• Big Top Promotions Gun Show
Saturday, July 21 – Sunday, July 22
Gun and knife retailers gathered together a the Convention Center to offer enthusiasts an opportunity to purchase and evaluate personal collections. Open to the public: Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m./ Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost: $10 for adults; Active and retired military and children under 18 accompanied by an adult are free.
• Bikers at the Beach

Hundreds of motorcycle riders and enthusiasts descend on Ocean Shores and join in with Hog Wild Weekend, at the Convention Center and Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. Enjoy live music, vendors, bike shows and more.

• Whale of a Quilt Show

The Sea-Pal Quilters of Ocean Shores, “Whale of a Quilt Show” at the Convention Center offers boutique vendors, handmade quilts, demonstrations, and quilted items. The show is judged and prizes are awarded. Free admission, donations welcome.
