The Learning Series of Ocean Shores presents “Basic Broadcasting Rules and Regulations,” in collaboration with the Concerned Citizens Action Coalition/Ocean Shores, Marty Hadfield, Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer, and the North Beach Senior Center, 885 Ocean Shores Blvd. NW, where the event takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m.
This is an opportunity to learn what rules govern Ocean Shores’ local KOSW radio station, as well as the inner workings of the FCC and how their regulations apply to the relationship we may believe exists between listeners and radio stations. Hadfield serves as the station’s broadcast engineer and is also chair of the city’s Radio Board.
This learning session will cover basic broadcasting rules and regulations, FCC regulations and requirements, explanations of terms such as “free speech,” and other questions the public may have about our local FM station, KOSW-LP 91.3 FM. The Learning Series can be reached via their Facebook page and by email at learningseriesofoceanshores@gmail.com.
