The North Beach School District has named Jamie Moodenbaugh to take over the helm of the Hyaks for the 2019-20 school year.
Moodenbaugh, a graduate of Wishkah Valley, Grays Harbor College and Central Washington University is coming home to Grays Harbor. After beginning as a coaching volunteer, Moodenbaugh decided that coaching and developing student athletes would be his career goal.
His coaching experiences include serving as the defensive coordinator at Montesano High School for 8 seasons; and also coaching high school track, middle school basketball and powerlifting. After taking a break from coaching to cheer for his own sons, Moodenbaugh has spent the last four years supporting the development of a fully articulated 6-12 program in Napavine and continuing to learn from the varsity staff in that district.
Moodenbaugh describes himself as a “teacher of men,” acknowledging that his most important role is building relationships with his student athletes and ensuring that they are exceptional students and citizens.
“We were blessed to consider several outstanding candidates to support the transformation of our football program and partner with us in our continued school and district reform,” said North Beach Athletic Director, Vernon Bruni.
“Jamie stood tall above the rest. He wants to be in North Beach and comes with a passion and a plan to build a program that we can all be proud of.” Coach Moodenbaugh has hit the ground sprinting, announcing dates for spring football.
