The Labor Day weekend featured two of the North Beach area’s most popular end of summer events — Paddle the Shores in Ocean Shores and the Kelpers Parade and Shake Rat Rendezvous in Moclips and Pacific Beach.

This year, Moclips won the annual tug of war between the two beach towns, while in Ocean Shores, Bob Rhodes raced to first place in the six-mile race of human powered watercraft.

The highlight of the weekend was the Kelpers Parade on Sunday, featuring arguably the most colorful cast of local characters, and Queen Jeff with his court right out of the Wizard of Oz.
