The North Beach Powerlifting team joined with the Eagle Riders group from the North Beach Eagles (FOE4147) to gather non-perishable food items for the Ocean Shores Food Bank.

The team will continue collect food throughout the day Saturday as the Hyaks host the sixth annual Beach Blast Powerlifting Tournament at the North Beach gym’s “House of Pain.”

A total of 26 powerlifting teams from around the state will be sending an estimated 200 young athletes to North Beach High School for the all-day event that starts at 10 a.m.

Please bring items for the food bank for collection at the door.

On Friday, the team gathered around the goods they had already collected.

“Not bad for a week’s effort. We decided to just go out and do it,” said coach Ric Dycus.
